During his university years, he developed an advanced engineering project focused on caseless ammunition technology and presented his research to the Turkish Land Forces Command. This early achievement demonstrated a lifelong commitment to solving complex challenges through research, engineering, and innovation.
Following his engineering education, Burhan founded the Turkish Airlines General Sales Agency under Akita Tourism in Isparta, Türkiye, successfully operating the business for sixteen years while continuing to pursue scientific research, product development, and manufacturing innovation.

Burhan Kilic is the founder of Akita Rose Water Inc. in Canada and Akita Natural Products Inc. in Türkiye.

While researching traditional rose water production methods, he identified a critical limitation: conventional rose water is typically produced after valuable aromatic components have been removed during essential oil extraction.
Determined to preserve more of the rose's natural character, Burhan developed both a proprietary ingredient and an innovative manufacturing process designed to maintain the integrity of the rose distillate.
The result was a completely new category of cosmetic raw material.
Following an INCI review, the ingredient was recognized as Rosa Damascena Flower Distillate, establishing a new benchmark for rose-based cosmetic ingredients and botanical skincare innovation.
